I am honored beyond honored to be featured today on the lovely blog of Madelyn Mulvaney, Persisting Stars. Click here to check out the interview. Also, if you are inclined, I highly recommend taking one of her one of her e-courses
~ In the fall of 2000 my book, Be True to Yourself: A Daily Guide for Teenage Girls, was published. Today, ten years later, I received an email from my mother. Honey! Your book is number two on the list of best-selling teen spirituality books on Amazon.com, she wrote. Attached was a picture she had taken of her computer screen. Indeed Be True To Yourself was right there at number two. As a writer, it's thrilling to see your book sell for just one day, but to see it still selling after a decade...wow! I am humbled and honored and grateful entirely. Thank you to all who have believed in and supported my work. It makes me smile imaging my sweet little book, ten years old, still being chosen from the shelves by the hands of new readers, excited to discover what lies inside. I hope it serves you well. And thanks to my mom for sending the photo along:
~ Hey look! They made my book into Mad Libs.
~
In honor of my book, Kiss Me, I'm Single, I made a drink: The KissMeTini. Give it a try. Ingredients: 2 tbsp fresh mint leaves {to cleanse your breath} 1/2 tsp chopped and seeded jalapeno {to get you hot} 2 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice {to make you pucker} 2 tsp simple syrup {to sweeten your spirit} 4 oz citrus vodka {for wherever the night may lead} Directions: Muddle mint, jalapeno, lemon juice and simple syrup in pint glass or cocktail shaker. Add vodka and ice. Shake it like a polaroid picture. Serve up or on the rocks. Warning! Do not touch your eyes after handling the jalapeno ~ it’ll burn.
~ The auience was backed and the store sold out of copies at the launch party for my book, Kiss Me, I'm Single.
Author Layne Mahew came by to support.
As did Working Girl, Karen Burns. {She always makes me laugh.}
And so did my dear friend, Melanie.
And my tallest friend, Jason.
And my Philip, who is as close to a brother as I've ever had.
Thank you all for your sweet support. |
